Match : Alaves vs Girona
Competition : Spain – La Liga
Time / Date : 20:30h / 19 April 2018
Venue : Estadio de Mendizorroza
The hosts come into this match following back-to-back wins, which has eased any concerns that they might be sucked back into the relegation scrap. Their 1-0 win in a Basque derby at Eibar last time out, saw them move onto 38 points, 12 clear of the bottom three, which they were entrenched in earlier this term. Abelardo has done a cracking job and if they win here, they’d only be just outside the top half and that might provide some motivation over the coming weeks.
Girona meanwhile have just hit a bit of a rough patch. Their last 4 games have only yielded one point and their chances of a miraculous European qualification have taken a real knock as a result of that. They are still only 3 points off 7th, which will be enough for Europa League football as long as Barcelona win the Copa del Rey this weekend.
Carlos Vigaray (Knee injury), Héctor Hernández (Malleolar injury)
Álex Granell (Yellow card suspension), Jonás Ramalho (Wound), Carles Planas (Hamstring Injury)
Alaves came from behind to win 3-2 when the sides met for the first time in the top flight in Catalonia earlier this term. The last 4 meetings overall have produced 2 wins each.
Girona have lost three and drawn one of their last four La Liga games, with Machin’s men losing their momentum in the race for a dream top-six finish,we can bet on “Home win“
