Match : RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund
Competition : Germany – 1.Bundesliga
Time / Date : 19:30h / 3 March 2018
Venue : Red Bull Arena
RB Leipzig dropped to sixth last weekend after a shocking 2-1 defeat at home to bottom-of-the-table Cologne – the first time the Red Bulls have suffered back-to-back Bundesliga defeats since March 2017. Leizpig are still hot on the heels of the top four, trailing 4th placed Eintracht Frankfurt by just a point, but a hot-and-cold run of form in 2018, over which Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men have taken just 10 points from seven Bundesliga matches (W3 D1 L3), isn’t the best way to head into a headline fixture like this. Leipzig will at least be boosted by the return of midfielder Naby Keita, who returned to training on Wednesday. Ademola Lookman and Jean-Kevin Augustin, who started against Cologne, are also expected to make way for regulars Yussuf Poulsen and Timo Werner.
Dortmund are unbeaten in nine Bundesliga matches and have improved at the back since manager Peter Stöger took over. They still struggle in possession, though, and fail to make use of their immense attacking potential on a consistent basis.
Marcel Halstenberg (Cruciate Ligament Rupture), Konrad Laimer (Minor wound)
Raphaël Guerreiro (Muscular problems), Sebastian Rode (Stress response of the bone), Erik Durm (Torn ankle ligament), Shinji Kagawa (Ankle problems), Andriy Yarmolenko (Foot injury)
RB Leipzig won 3-2 in Dortmund when the two sides last met in October. Leipzig and Dortmund took turns winning 1-0 at home in the other two prior meetings between them.
Dortmund will head onto the game in higher spirits and we can see them taking advantage of the current slump in RB Leipzig’s form
